Pakistan, Russia vow to cement bilateral ties in diverse sectors

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Russia have expressed the resolve to strengthen bilateral cooperation in various sectors, including security, economy, education, culture and tourism, ARY News reported on Monday. The resolved was expressed during a meeting between Caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi and Russian Ambassador Danila Ganich in Islamabad. Speaking on the occasion, the minister emphasised on expanding cooperation in different areas, including media, drama, films, joint productions and training programmes. He said Islamabad attaches great value to its relations with Moscow and wants to enhance its relations with Russia in these fields. ISLAMABAD: Former National Assembly (NA) speaker Asad Qaiser on Sunday lamented the political victimisation of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, saying that PTI will only hold talks when its concerns are addressed, ARY News reported. Speaking at ARY News programme ‘Sawwal Ye Hai’, the PTI leader demanded that the incumbent government take concrete steps to restore the party’s mandate, which he claimed was stolen in the recently-held general elections. Asad Qaiser said that the government is talking about negotiations, but it needs to take trust-building measures first. He added that the PTI will only hold talks when its concerns are addressed first.
