Dale Steyn praises Shaheen Shah Afridi’s bowling skills

LAHORE: Former South African bowler Dale Steyn showered high praises for Pakistan’s ace pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi’s bowling skills as he commented on his dismissal of Babar Azam in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) eight.

South African bowling great Steyn, who holds the record for most days spent as the top-ranked bowler in Tests, was impressed by Shaheen’s use of wrist in his bowling style.

Taking to Twitter, Steyn retweeted the footage of Shaheen casting Babar with a brilliant in-swinger and shared how young pacers can learn to bowl quick by taking notes from Shaheen’s bowling.

“Shaheen’s wrist is amazing!” wrote Steyn. The bend & flick he has is so special and [an] area where many young fast bowlers could look to find their extra yard of pace they searching for,” he added.

“Few drills one could try, but if you’re over 25 I’m sorry but it may already be too late. Still worth a try,” Steyn concluded.

It is pertinent to mention that Shaheen on Sunday became the first bowler in PSL history to bag two five-wicket hauls following his magnificent bowling display amid his side’s fixture against Babar-led Peshawar Zalmi.

His brilliance powered Qalandars to restrict Zalmi to 201/9 after posting a mammoth 241/9.
